Rather breezy and chilly across northern and western areas this morning. A lot of cloud too with outbreaks of mainly light rain and showers. Northern Scotland, Northern Ireland and the West Country will be dry and sunniest. In the afternoon we’re expecting little overall change with these areas staying rather cloudy with rain and showers. Some of the showers will be locally heavy across north east England. Expect highs of 14 to 17C.

Less breezy this evening with still some rain to come across eastern Scotland, northern England into central and eastern parts of England, though it will be light and patchy. Much of the United Kingdom looks mainly dry tonight with varying cloud and clears spells though a few bits of patchy rain may linger across Wales and northern Scotland. Expect minimums of 8 to 12C.
